Crabmeat Casserole 2013-12-28 20:17:03 Write a review Save Recipe Print Total Time 1 hr Total Time 1 hr Casserole Filling 1/2 c Shortening 1/2 c Onion 1/2 c Flour 1 t Mustard Powder 1/2 t Seasoned Salt (ie: Old Bay) 1 c American Cheese, shredded 6 1/2 oz Crabmeat 1 1/2 c Tomatoes, diced and drained 2 t Worcestershire Sauce Cheese Biscuit Topping 1 c Flour 2 t Baking Powder 1/2 t Salt 1/4 c Cheese, shredded 2 T Shortening 1/2 c Milk
Instructions Melt Shortening in double boiler, add Onions and cook over boiling water for 10 minutes. Blend in Flour, Mustard, Salt, Milk and Cheese. Stir until thick and cheese is melted. Add Crabmeat, Tomatoes, and Worcestershire Sauce. Pour filling into 2qt casserole dish.
Cheese Biscuit Topping Mix Flour, Baking Powder, Salt and then add Cheese. Cut in Shortening until mixture looks like coarse meal. Add Milk.
Casserole Drop Biscuit Dough by teaspoons on top of Crab mixture. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

Write a review Save Recipe Print Total Time 4 hr 30 min Total Time 4 hr 30 min Ingredients 2 ea Ducks, fully dressed 3 T self rising Flour 1 T Lard 1/4 c self rising Flour 2 c Water 1/2 t Salt 1 dash fresh cracked Black Pepper 1 ea Apple, quartered 1 ea Potato, cubed 1 ea Onion, quartered
Instructions Lightly Salt and Pepper inside cavities of Ducks. Roll birds in 3 T of Flour to coat. Melt Lard in 6qt dutch oven and brown birds well on all sides and remove to platter. Add the 1/4 c Flour to drippings and cook till browned. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add Water, Salt and Pepper and return to heat. Cook and stir till thickened. Place rack in bottom of dutch oven, stuff cavities of Ducks with Apple, Potato, and Onion. Cover and bake at 325° 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
